something old something blue
An evocative study in contrast, this work bisects the human form into two distinct realities. On the left, the body is a conduit for raw, swirling energy, rendered in vibrant, poured blues and gold that evoke the unpredictable nature of the subconscious. In direct opposition, the right side presents an anatomical grounding, composed in serene, warm ochres and browns that suggest the stability and weight of the physical self.
100 × 73 × 2 cm, acrylic paint, srting & pouring medium on canvas.
Visceral Bisection: The vertical divide acts as a threshold between the internal "flow" of identity and the external, structured reality of the body, creating a powerful visual tension.
Textural Equilibrium: By reserving the pouring medium for the left side of the figure, the painting highlights the interplay between smooth, intentional brushwork and the chaotic, expressive beauty of fluid abstraction.
Earthy Harmonization: The shift toward a palette of terracotta and golden hues on the right half provides a grounding anchor, allowing the vivid, "electric" blues of the poured side to vibrate with increased intensity.
