A ROOM HUNG WITH PICTURES IS A ROOM HUNG WITH THOUGHTS

An immersive study of architecture and the human figure, rendered as a staged, multi-dimensional room. Within this fractured space, a standing figure poses with classical elegance, while a second, reclining figure is grounded on a vibrant, collage-constructed floor. The walls—decorated with geometric color blocks and a textured, grid-like panel—transform the setting into a surreal chamber, suggesting a private sanctuary for introspection and staged existence.

70 × 70 × 2 cm, acrylic paint, magazine paper, string & pouring medium on canvas.

  • Spatial Layering: The use of linear perspective creates a defined room, contrasting the "flatness" of the colorful walls with the depth of the floor, creating a stage-like environment for the figures.

  • Collage Foundations: The floor is composed of layered paper elements in warm ochres and yellows, providing a tactile, textured base that contrasts with the smooth, graphic application of paint on the figures and walls.

  • The Grid of Consciousness: The textured, grid-like panel on the right wall introduces an element of rigid order, balancing the fluid, organic posture of the standing subject and echoing the "poured" aesthetics found elsewhere in my series.

  • Sustainable Craftsmanship: The use of recycled magazines creates a complex, textured surface that breathes new life into everyday materials.
